About Dental Education

Dental education prepares people for careers as general dentists, specialists (such as orthodontists, periodontists and endodontists), dental hygienists, dental assistants, dental laboratory technicians and dental therapists.

In the United States and Canada, a dental professional must graduate with a degree from an accredited academic dental institution. It is from these institutions that ADEA derives its membership.
