Ol' Skool Rodz
Established: 2003
Published: Bi-Monthly
Hardcore traditional hot rodders have turned to the pages of Ol' Skool Rodz, the unquestioned leader in the category, since its first issue in 2003. In every bi-monthly issue, Ol’ Skool Rodz brings you the best from the rod and kustom world with the greatest collection of traditional rods and old skool kustoms anywhere.
We represent a widely diverse audience from around the globe, male and female, ages 15 to 80. We owe our appeal to a balance of well-written editorial commentary, easy-to-follow technical articles, and awesome rod features, all presented with compelling passion by an eclectic crew of talented and experienced rodders.
Editorial
Our staff differs from that of many of our competitors in one special aspect: we actually participate in the hot rod and kustom lifestyle. We build the cars, we go to the shows and we actually talk to our readers face-to-face. No one else does that. Our readers see your ad in our magazine as an endorsement from us. It’s an intensely loyal readership, too. They will become your loyal customers.
Ol’ Skool Rodz offices are in Georgia, Tennessee, Colorado and California. Contributing writers and photographers range from all over the U.S., plus Canada, Australia, Japan, and Europe. Editorial features and commentary provide a candid look at Rodz-related topics and our columnists are the best in the industry. We have grassroots reporting, indepth features and coverage of what’s hot in the rodz kulture. We cover events, road trips, and nostalgia drags. We let you in on the shop talk, tech tips and roadside repairs from America’s best traditional rod builders and fabricators.
Ol’ Skool Rodz is the only journal read by everyone from the tattooed psychobilly chop shop artist to grayheaded ol’ rodders that started this whole movement back in the ‘50s.
Distribution
Ol’ Skool Rodz is published six times a year and is distributed coast-to-coast by Curtis Circulation Company, from the corner grocer to the street rod shop, to book stores and every newsstand where quality magazines are sold. It's also distributed in Europe, Japan, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and many other countries. Cover price is $6.99.
Ol’ Skool Rodz has an impressive and continually growing subscriber base with one of the best renewal rates in the industry. Additionally, Ol’ Skool Rodz and its sister magazine, Car Kulture DeLuxe, are consistently the best-selling hot rod magazines in the top bookstores in the nation, including Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and Hastings. Rodz not only outsells other hot rod magazines by a huge margin, but also ranks in the top 10% of all magazines in those same stores. It performs the same at Walmart, too.
